Facebook files for 5 Billion Dollor IPO

 

And now we see why Facebook has been going through all these changes in the last years. This is what they have been preparing for.   To start the process of going public, Facebook filed papers to raise 5 Billion dollars for their initial public offering.  In 2011, Facebook earned $1 billion on sales of $3.7 billion. As of December 31, Facebook had 845 million daily active users. The share price and how many shares will be sold will come out in later filings closer to when the stock will trade.

BET bans Nicki Minaj's new video

Don't expect to catch Nicki Minaj's latest music video "Stupid H*e" on BET -- because TMZ has learned the network is REFUSING to air it.
We spoke with a rep for BET who wouldn't specify exactly why the network has banned the video -- simply saying BET will not be broadcasting it.
But sources at the company tell us, the ban was put in place because the video's just too explicit for TV.

Breaking News: Don Cornelius found dead

Per Los Angeles Times,

"Soul Train" creator Don Cornelius was found dead at his Sherman Oaks on home Wednesday morning. Law enforcement sources said police arrived at Cornelius' home around 4 a.m. He apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the case was ongoing. The sources said there was no sign of foul play, but the Los Angeles Police Department was investigating. source

Terrance Howard hit with restraining order

Actor Terrance Howard has been slapped with a restraining order from his soon to be ex wife Michelle Howard. Michelle claims that Terrance Howard was abusive during their short marriage and even threatening to kill her.  Howard must stay 100 yards away from his estranged wife or go to jail.  The restraining order will be in effect until Jan 17th court hearing.

Terrance Howard has fired back in the below statement:

"I live in constant fear of Michelle's endeavors to ruin my reputation; even providing this declaration may well lead to my being subjected to a paparazzi blitz which would not be good for my career."

Steve Harvey dumps stand up, hello to talk show

The New York Post is reporting that Steve Harvey is leaving stand up for his own talk show.

Next fall, NBC plans to begin airing Steve Harvey's  new daytime talk show.  Harvey envisions that the show will have an emphasis on “everyday people” rather than celebrities, variety-show elements such as singing contests and an overall feel he described as “ ‘Oprah’ with a sense of humor

RIP Heavy D 1967-2011 - You will be missed!!!

Yesterday the world lost a Hip Hop Pioneer, Heavy D. I will not post the details of what happened to him. I will remember him for his contribution to the hip hop game, his positivity, and his overall sexiness. :-) I grew up on Heavy D and the Boyz. His music was good and clean. You will be missed. Actor Gary Dourdan (Shaza) arrested

 

Actor Gary Dourdan formerly of CSI and A Different World was arrested Sunday for allegedly breaking the nose of his ex-girlfriend. TMZ says a former girlfriend went to Dourdan’s home in Venice, CA Sunday night. Cops received a disturbance call at around 9pm, arrived at the house but the woman had already left.  While the cops were there, someone called LAPD and said an injured woman was in a nearby alley — it was Dourdan’s ex. Cop looked her over and it appeared she had a broken nose and she said Dourdan was the culprit. star was arrested and booked for felony battery.  He’s being held on $50,000 bail.
