ABC’s daytime chatfest “The View” is moving to bring on two new outspoken co-hosts: comic Whoopi Goldberg and performer Sherri Shepherd.
Final negotiations with the duo are underway, and an announcement of their hiring is expected next week, according to a person familiar with the discussions.
ABC declined to comment. “We have nothing to announce right now,” said spokesman Karl Nilsson.
Goldberg, the irreverent comedian and Oscar-winning actress, and Shepherd, a stand-up comic who has appeared in movies like “Beauty Shop,” would bring a strong dose of brash humor to the 10-year-old program, which was buoyed by O’Donnell’s presence last season.

I'm all for Sheppard but I can't stand Whoopi's ugly ass. She's almost as bad a choice as O'Donnell. O'Donnell insured I would never watch the show while she was on.
We should be supporting the addition of Sherri Sheppard and Whoopi Goldberg to the cast of THE VIEW. It's not often that you get two minority perspectives on a show like this. They're intelligent, funny and great female role models. And I'm proud that The View wasn't afraid to add 2 black people at once. So MUCH LOVE to Whoopi and Sherri....now let's can Elizabeth and put in Jenifer Lewis! Then, you'd have a SHOW!
I think Whoopi is an extremely attractive woman all around -- inside and out. She's intelligent and thoughtful as well as funny and goofy. She has a rich, dark, ethnic, natural look that is very attractive to anyone who is capable of appreciating more than one flavor in life. She doesn't straighten her hair or put on airs like a prissy. I love her dreads, her smile, her skin, her body, her face, the look in her eyes -- and FYI I am a white, athletic guy who's young enough to be her son... but I can appreciate aesthetic diversity. She's had more Hollywood studs fall for her than she knows what to do with, so she's not an "ugly-ass" by any means... She's SEXY in a unique way.. not that looks and sex appeal matter that much anyway, but.. YAY.. Go Whoopi!!!
