NBA PLAYER SHOWS UP AT SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR TEEN

Washington Wizard Caron Butler recently decided to kick it and party with a bunch of 16-year-olds. Anthony Fadel, a Washington, D.C.-area high school sophomore, has cousin who lives down the street from Butler. So when Fadel’s family was planning a surprise party for his 16th birthday, they sent his little sister to Butler’s house to give him a party invitation. They didn't hear anything. A week later, Fadel’s mother, Marie, again sent the little girl to give him another invite and Butler told her he might come. On the day of the party, before Anthony arrived, the Fadel family got a surprise of its own.

"I see a black Range Rover coming up my driveway," Mrs. Fadel told Dan Steinberg’s D.C. Sports Bog. "I looked out and I said, 'Oh my God, Caron Butler is here.' "

Her Korean fanclub has been there aswell and they were able to meet Amerie and give her their special gifts in a box. And in case you wonder about Amerie's dress, it's a traditional Korean dress called "Hanbok". Amerie wore a more modernized version and her mother, Mi Suk, wore a more traditional one. Hogzilla is being made into a horror movie. But the sequel may be even bigger: Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9 feet 4, from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires.
If the claims are accurate, Jamison Stone's trophy boar would be bigger than Hogzilla, the famed wild hog that grew to seemingly mythical proportions after being killed in south Georgia in 2004.
Hogzilla originally was thought to weigh 1,000 pounds and measure 12 feet long. National Geographic experts who unearthed its remains believe the animal actually weighed about 800 pounds and was 8 feet long.
Regardless of the comparison, Jamison is reveling in the attention over his pig.

CIARA TO STAR IN "MAMA I WANT TO SING!"

Variety reports that Grammy Award-winning singer Ciara and veteran soul singer Patti LaBelle will star in CodeBlack Entertainment's adaptation of Off-Broadway gospel musical "Mama, I Want to Sing!" Scheduled for theatrical release next February, "Mama, I Want to Sing!" will start production next month in Baton Rouge, LA.

"Mama" will be written and directed by Charles Randolph-Wright (Preaching to the Choir), and produced by Codeblack’s Jeff Clanagan, as well as Marvet Britto (The Woodsman) and Holly Davis Carter (The Gospel). This is the first feature role for Ciara, who will play the lead.

"Mama, I Want to Sing!" is based on the life story of Doris Troy, a preacher’s daughter who sang in a Church Choir before being discovered by James Brown. Her successful recording career included the hit “Just One Look” and work with the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, George Harrison, and Dusty Springfield.

YOLANDA KING, DAUGHTER OF MLK JR, DIES AT 51

Yolanda Denise King, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s eldest child who pursued her father's dream of racial harmony through acting and motivational speaking, has died. She was 51. King died late Tuesday in Santa Monica, California, said Steve Klein, a spokesman for the King Center. The family did not know the cause of death but that relatives think it might have been a heart problem, he said.
Born on November 17, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, King was just an infant when her home was bombed during the turbulent civil rights era.
As an actress, she appeared in numerous films, including "Ghosts of Mississippi," and even played Rosa Parks in the 1978 miniseries "King."

It has been confirmed, via Kelly Rowland's official website, that her sophomore CD 'Ms Kelly' has been pushed back again. The CD, which was supposed to hit stores on June 26th, will now drop a week later on July 3rd.

As much as I'm disappointed with the delay, I can totally understand why. With the major release from 50 Cent on June 26th as well, Kelly most definitely would have got lost in the shuffle and chart badly. I'm guessing her label must really be looking for her to hit #1 with this album.

After getting on one knee, he proposed to Ebanks last night in New York City's famed Times Square, after departing a gala at the Metropololitan Museum of Art.
She accepted the offer and the offer and he presented her with a 12-carat diamond ring.
"Selita will you marry me?" was projected on the giant MTV jumbotron located in Times Square.
The pair were chauffeured in a Rolls Royce Phantom to an after party with their friends and family.
Attendees included his mother, Ebanks' parents, Marc Ecko, Tommy Hilfiger, Jacob the Jeweler, Zach Braff and rapper Young Jeezy.
The doting couple and their guests ate red velvet cake and drank a variety of beverages.

USHER DISMISSES HIS MOTHER AS MANAGER

Usher's mother has been his manager since he was a teen, but now the superstar says he wants her to be just "mom." The Grammy winner confirmed Monday that Jonnetta Patton is no longer in charge of his career, but denied the break was due to any rift.
"She and I are on great terms and support each other in our life's endeavors. We are both very happy but are now working in different areas of the business," he said in a statement to The Associated Press. "This is great for me because it means I now get to have my mother strictly as my mother with no added pressure. Usher said he believed that by ending his professional relationship with his mother, it would bring them closer.
"At this time in my life, I am simply more interested in building the strength of my family. And in order to do that, I feel it's best to separate my business life from my personal life," he said.
This is the second major change this year for Usher, 28. In March, he announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend, stylist Tameka Foster.
Rumors have swirled that Foster would replace Patton as Usher's manager, but the singer said: "She has no aspirations of becoming my manager or any other artist's manager."
Usher is slated to release the follow-up to 2004's "Confessions," which sold 9 million copies in the United States, later this year.

Melanie Brown, who welcomed her second daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, last month, says she's taking ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy to court to force him to take a paternity test. "He's not doing a DNA test and he's not signing the birth certificate," Brown told PEOPLE Tuesday at a party for the U.S. launch of the BOOTS beauty brand in Hollywood. "So it's going to have to go to court so he can be forced to do it, which is strange since he was the one asking for it." Brown, 31, who has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix, with her ex-husband, has long maintained that Murphy, 46, is her new baby's father, although he told a Dutch TV show in December: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."

R KELLY WRITES SONG FOR VIRGINIA TECH CALLED "RISE UP"

R. Kelly has written a new song, "Rise Up," about healing in the aftermath of the April 16 shootings at Virginia Tech. A gunman killed 32 people and himself on the university's campus in Blacksburg, Va.
"Rise Up" will be available digitally May 15, and 100 percent of the net proceeds from its sale will go to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, said Jive Records, Kelly's record label.
Kelly, 40, wrote the inspirational ballad after watching the events unfold on television while he was on tour, Jive said.
The lyrics include the lines: "Rise up, when you feel you can't go on, rise up, and all of your hope is gone, rise up, when you're weak and you can't be strong."
