"No one knows why we canceled the wedding, but I can tell you that all of the reasons that everyone is speculating and writing about are completely untrue," Foster told PEOPLE Monday, but she declined to reveal more about why the nuptials were called off.

As reported, Usher and Tameka Foster were supposed to have jumped the broom today, but now the wedding has been called off.

It was scheduled for Saturday afternoon at record executive LA Reid's home in New York's Hamptons.

However, a statement released by publicist Patti Webster exclusively to the AP read: "It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond, IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected.

According to People.com, Usher and Tameka only decided to do this wedding two weeks ago and they were having some issues.

"Usher (full name: Usher Raymond) and Forster, a stylist, also "had a lot of differences about the details. For example, the bride wanted barbeque, [and] he wanted to have [renowned chef] Jean Georges cook," said the source.

As a result of the differences, the wedding "was on again off again for the past few days. [Foster] was calling it off because she wasn't getting the things that she wanted. The mother was calling it off. ... Usher was calling it off."

New York's Daily News reports that Usher's mother was invited at the last minute, though an unnamed source tells the paper she did not want to go.Publish Post

Goldberg, the irreverent comedian and Oscar-winning actress, and Shepherd, a stand-up comic who has appeared in movies like “Beauty Shop,” would bring a strong dose of brash humor to the 10-year-old program, which was buoyed by O’Donnell’s presence last season.

As the sentence for Ron Isley's tax evasion charges looms, fans are petitioning President Bush to keep the ailing singer from incarceration. In 2005, Isley, who has no prior criminal history, was convicted of five counts of tax evasion and one count of failing to file a tax return. Prosecutors charge he evaded taxes by requesting cash payments for performances in the years between 1997-2002. He is scheduled to report for a three-year federal sentence August 7.

ESSENCE.com: How did you two officially break up?

MEL B: There was no official breakup. I went to London and on my return flight I learned that he made that announcement about wanting a DNA test on that TV show. Then I saw him on the red carpet with Tracey Edmonds and that's when I knew we were over.

ESSENCE.com: Whoa, what a way to find out. What was your gut reaction?

MEL B: I laughed because that wasn't the guy that I knew who told me he wanted to have a baby and get married. I just didn't believe it. I had my lawyer send me the link for the clip of that Dutch TV show. I had to see it to believe it. When I saw it my heart dropped down to my gut. Obviously, there was something within him that I didn't know. Then I thought, If that's the kind of person that he truly is, then I'm better off by myself. I had to switch gears because I had press outside my property walking up to my front door. It was awful because I was pregnant. Eddie and I were extremely low-key; you didn't see me going anywhere with him maybe once or twice. One of the reasons I moved to this country was to avoid the limelight so I could take my kid to the park and do my grocery shopping. So to have him embarrass me worldwide and have press knocking on my door—frankly, I was pissed and I was like, "Thank you! You have now put me in a whole different lifestyle where I have to have security, move to a new house, and move my kid out of the school she attended." That was no fun.

Eddie is a deadbeat daddy. He needs to do so much better..

ASSAULT LAWSUIT AGAINST DIDDY DROPPED

Hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs is celebrating after a lawsuit accusing him of assault was dropped due to "insufficient evidence." The rapper was alleged to have lost his temper with Gerald Rechnitzer at a post-Oscars party at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel in February, when Combs was confronted for flirting with the clubber's fiancee.
In court documents, Rechnitzer claims Combs shouted, "What the f&%# (are) you looking at, dude?" before threatening to "smack flames out of your ass."
The 27-year-old accused the Last Night hitmaker of "intentionally, willfully, knowingly and unlawfully attacking, assaulting and battering" him at the party and filed the suit in March, seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
But, according to the New York Post, the court case has fallen through, with a spokesman simply stating, "There was insufficient evidence."

Lindsay Lohan was arrested on drunk-driving charges in Santa Monica, Calif., early Tuesday morning, TMZ.com is reporting. The site quotes unnamed police sources saying the actress, 21, was found with cocaine in her possession. Lohan's blood alcohol level was between .12 and .13 – exceeding the legal limit of .08, TMZ reports. After her bail was set at $25,000, Lohan was released later Tuesday morning, according to TMZ, which said law enforcement officials found her cooperative. Lohan – who has been wearing an alcohol monitoring bracelet – was picked up around 2:15 a.m. on Main Street, near the Santa Monica Police Department, and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and of driving with a suspended license, says Sgt. Robert Hernandez, reports the City News Service.

ISAIAH WASHINGTON CASTER FOR THE BIONIC WOMAN ON NBC

Isaiah Washington, bouncing back from his "Grey's Anatomy" firing with a role on a new NBC drama and prospects for his own network series, said Monday he's grateful for an unexpected second chance.
"I'm humbled by this opportunity," Washington told The Associated Press, shortly before NBC announced he would be joining its new series "Bionic Woman" for a five-episode arc. Washington and NBC Universal Studios also are developing an action series.
He said his dismissal from ABC's hit medical show after his repeated use of an anti-gay slur was "an unfortunate misunderstanding for everyone" that he was eager to move past.
"What I always wanted to put at the forefront is my creativity, that thing I want to do, which is act," Washington said.
He was brought to NBC by Ben Silverman, the recently appointed co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. It was a comment to a mutual friend that led to a meeting with Silverman just after Washington lost his ABC job, he said.
Silverman, recalling their June 7 get-together, said he was surprised to learn Washington had just been fired.

"`Gosh, it would great to get him, get a great actor on our air,'" Silverman recalled thinking. "It's like A-Rod leaving the Yankees in midseason." Asked if he was concerned that Washington was bringing baggage to NBC, Silverman said he wasn't. The focus will be on the actor's work and his contribution to "Bionic Woman," which Silverman described as "one of our most important shows."

KELLY ROWLAND COLLAPSES ON STAGE

Rowland collapsed early Sunday while performing as part of the ThisDay Music Festival. The cause of the fall was dehydration, according her publicist, Yvette Noel Schure.

In an email, Schure told CBS News' The ShowBuzz that "Rowland was taken to an undisclosed Lagos hospital for a check-up and is in good condition at present."

Footage of the frightening fall later showed up as a video on YouTube.com, but has since been removed from the site.

The singer, dressed in a yellow costume surrounded by similarly dressed dancers, is signing away, her image projected on a jumbo-screen behind her, when she suddenly falls to her knees and then hits the stage.

Schure said Rowland, 26, is doing well and is expected return to the U.S. Monday to continue promoting her album.

REMY MA ARRESTED ON ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES

Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma was arrested Saturday on charges of attempted murder in a shooting outside a trendy Manhattan nightspot, police said.
The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Remy Smith, had been sought for questioning in the shooting of a 23-year-old woman early Saturday after a verbal dispute near a bar in the Meatpacking District. She reported to police Saturday evening and was also arrested on charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

WAYANS BID AGAIN FOR LAND FOR STUDIO

The Wayans brothers could soon be headed back to the bargaining table to build a movie studio and theme park after an earlier agreement with the city ended with little progress on the project.
An Oakland City Council committee planned Tuesday to consider an exclusive four-month negotiating agreement with a team led by Keenen Ivory Wayans to develop 70 acres on a run-down former Army base.
An earlier 18-month agreement with brothers Keenen Ivory, Damon, Shawn and Marlon Wayans expired in May after the team failed to meet most deadlines. City officials said the new agreement will require the developers to meet a series of tight deadlines to ensure the project moves forward.
"The biggest concern I have is that it's been a couple of years now," City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente said. "The longer we take, the longer we don't have jobs or tax revenues for the city."
Keenen Ivory Wayans met with Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums last month to pitch the project, which would include a movie production studio, business park, retail village and luxury hotel. Developers said it would create more than 1,500 jobs in one of the city's poorest neighborhoods.

Tracey Edmonds, whose divorce from Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds became final last week, is denying new rumors that she has ended things with new flame Eddie Murphy over stress related to his ex-girlfriend, Melanie Brown.

UCLA STUDENT HAS OLD PARIS HILTON NUMBER

For months, Shira Barlow's cell phone was flooded with wrong-number calls and text messages, mostly between 2 and 4 a.m. on weekends. Told they had reached a college student, callers refused to believe it.

"Baby girl, how are you?" one man purred in a foreign accent. "Why are you doing this?" a woman asked. "This is so rude." And there were several seemingly random references to "Paris."
As in Paris Hilton.
Barlow's story began on Valentine's Day during a night out with friends. She was carrying her phone in a back pocket when it fell into a toilet. When she replaced it, her wireless company insisted on assigning the San Francisco native a new number with a 310 area code rather than 415.
Barlow had been given a recycled phone number that used to be Hilton's. The practice stems from efforts to conserve phone numbers to minimize area-code splitting.

Just after Barlow got her new phone close to Hilton's Feb. 17 birthday, a flurry of calls and texts arrived. "Oh my God," one caller said. "Where's the party?"

EVA LONGORIA AND TONY PARKER GET MARRIED

Professional basketball star Tony Parker married "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria at a civil ceremony in Paris on Friday — a prelude to their expected star-studded weekend wedding bash at a lavish and storied chateau.

Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe officiated and gave a speech saying how happy he was that they were married in the City of Light, said the mayor of Paris' 4th District, Dominique Bertinotti.

Longoria, 32, showed up first in a white stretch limo, wearing a way-above-the-knee pink Chanel dress with striped black and white straps. She was accompanied by about eight guests in cream, pink and purple dresses. She turned, smiled and waved for the crowd of waiting photographers and reporters who were kept well back behind two rows of police barriers.

Longoria then changed into a short white dress for the ceremony, said Bertinotti — whose office acted as the dressing room.

Parker, the 25-year-old San Antonio Spurs star who was born in Belgium and grew up playing basketball in France, arrived about 10 minutes later in a gray minivan, wearing a dark suit. He went straight in without waving. French soccer star Thierry Henry was in his group.

In between, other guests arrived in a Humvee stretch limo.

The ceremony, in a room with blue-and-white trimmed walls, a French flag and a portrait of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, lasted about 45 minutes. Bertinotti said there was a small reception afterward that also lasted about 45 minutes.

French law requires couples who marry to make their vows official at a city hall, even if they have a church wedding as well.

50 CENT TELL HIS CHILDREN G-UNIT HE'S NOT AN ATM

"Whether I got to give them $500,000 or $300,000 ... Just 'cause they want $300,000 more to make what they [are] doing at the time comfortable,” 50 explains. “Like, 'yo, I want to get this new place over here.'"

50 said he grew tired of being the G-Unit ATM machine and called a meeting among the artists of his label to finally put his foot down.

"Laze was there as representation of M.O.P., Havoc and Prodigy," he told XXL. "Banks, Buck. Spider was on the phone. Olivia was there. Sha Money was there. I broke it down. I told them I wouldn't be assisting them financially anymore. Pretty much I was telling them I wouldn't be there. [In the past] they'd make a lot of money and spend a lot of money and have me there to fix it."

Additionally, 50 noticed that his artists were not living up to their end of a deal to promote G-Unit gear.

"I looked around the room, and I was the only person with G-Unit sneakers on. But they were being paid," he adds. "It had become the norm for the check to come, but they were no longer wearing the clothes."

MICHAEL JACKSON LOOKING FOR HOME ON THE EAST COAST

Local media reported that Jackson helicoptered last weekend into the 17th century Chesapeake Bay-front village on Maryland's Eastern Shore, where the US vice president and former defense secretary keep holiday getaways, to cruise the real estate market for his own digs.
The Washington Post said Wednesday that Jackson's Washington-based publicist Raymone Bain confirmed the visit to "scout out some summer houses."
"He's always admired the properties on the East Coast because they have a lot of land. Neverland (Jackson's shuttered California estate) has 3,000 acres (1,200 hectares) -- he likes privacy. You can't find as many properties like that on the West Coast," Bain said.
If he does buy in St. Michaels -- a romantic tourist town in an area of corn farmers, crab and oyster fishermen and duck hunters -- he will be trading the flashy Hollywood elite he knows well for Washington's grey-suited powerful and privileged.

BILL PINKNEY, LAST LIVING MEMBER OF THE DRIFTERS, DIES

Bill Pinkney, the last survivor of the original members of the musical group The Drifters, died Wednesday. He was 81.
Pinkney was found dead at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, Daytona Beach Police spokesman Jimmie Flynt said. The death was not considered suspicious, he said.
Pinkney was scheduled to perform for Fourth of July festivities there.
Pinkney's manager, Maxine Porter, declined to discuss his cause of death, but said Pinkney had had health problems.
The Drifters, whose hits include "Under the Boardwalk," "Up on the Roof," and "Save the Last Dance For Me," still performed Wednesday night. An announcement about Pinkney's death was made after the show, said the group's publicist, Donnie Lowery.
Pinkney, born in Dalzell, S.C., wasn't with The Drifters when they recorded their biggest hits. He left in the band in 1958 because of an argument over cash. His distinctive bass voice can be heard on the group's version of the holiday classic "White Christmas."

ESSENCE.com: Congrats! Now that you’re the winner, what have you learned from your Charm School experience?

Saaphyri Windsor: Thank you. Ohmigosh! My experience was like going through a spiritual retreat. I’ve learned to bite my tongue and that you don’t always make lasting relationships so you must choose your friends wisely. And one of the other things I’ve learned from my girl, Becky, was marketing.

ESSENCE.com: You once said that winning $50,000 was like winning $1 million. How has it changed your life?

S.W.: I got the money but I realize that money doesn’t make a person; you have to make the person. I am putting a down payment on a condo and it definitely feels good to have your own. And just to clear the air, I don’t live in a box. For some reason people thought I did, but I lived with roommates. The truth of the matter is that as long as you don’t have your own it’s like you’re homeless because any second you could be out on the streets. Yes, it’s nice that I can pay my bills and mortgage, but I still can’t afford to say, "I’m never going to work again." What the money has offered me is a platform to stand strong on.

ESSENCE.COM: Love the new ‘do and you’ve lost weight. Was that compliments of Charm School?

S.W.: No, I just felt like going black. We had makeovers, but they changed my hair color to a light brown. What I did gain from Charm School was learning to take my time when I eat. That’s something I wouldn’t have done a year ago. I’ve lost so much weight and my clothes are fitting me more loosely. I've learned a beauty secret: when you take your time eating, you get full before you’re done.

TONY THOMPSON DIED OF SNIFFING FREON

Rhythm-and-blues singer Tony Thompson, whose body was found near an air-conditioning unit outside an East Waco apartment complex earlier this month, died accidentally while “huffing” Freon, an autopsy report released Friday shows.

Dr. Reade A. Quinton, a medical examiner at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas, determined that Thompson, 31, died from “toxic effects of chlorodifluoromethane,” or inhaling a toxic amount of Freon.

Freon is a gas primarily used in refrigeration and air-conditioning units.
Thompson, a Waco native and former lead singer for the platinum-selling Waco quintet Hi-Five in the 1990s, was found dead outside an apartment complex June 1.
Waco police said his body was found by officers working security at the apartment complex.
The autopsy report also shows that Thompson had a history of “Freon huffing.”
No alcohol or illegal drugs were detected in the singer’s system.
Methadone detected
However, the autopsy showed that Thompson had a small amount of methadone in his bloodstream.
Methadone is a synthetic narcotic used to treat drug addiction.
