RIHANNA WILL BE SUBPOENED TO TESTIFY AGAINST CHRIS BROWN

Rihanna is among the witnesses whom prosecutors plan to call during a hearing in Chris Brown's assault case, an attorney said Thursday.

Donald Etra, Rihanna's lawyer, told reporters that prosecutors have told him the Barbados-born singer will receive a subpoena to testify at a preliminary hearing June 22. The hearing will focus on whether there is enough evidence to continue the case against Brown.

Etra said Rihanna will comply with the order. It would mark her first appearance in court since felony assault and criminal threats charges were filed against Brown in March.

If she is called to testify, the 21-year-old singer would be subject to cross-examination by Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos.

C-MURDER SENTANCED TO 10 YEARS

C-Murder, better known to the government as Corey Miller, has pleaded "no contest" to attempted murder charges. The No-Limit rapper and brother to Master P (known now as P Miller), plead to two counts of attempted second-degree murder and with the plea agreement he will be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

As we previously reported, the jury selection process for C-Murder's trial had just begun. More than fourty people were brought in as prospective jurors and Judge Tony Marabella asked whether anyone knew of the defendant, Corey Miller saying "Mr. Miller is a rap artist, or a hip-hop artist, if the terminology is correct," Marabella said. "He sometimes goes by C-Miller. He sometimes goes by C-Murder." In the crowded courtroom, 37 people raised their hands, setting in motion an extended jury-selection process that is scheduled to resume Wednesday.

T.I. heads to prison

T.I. entered an Arkansas federal prison Tuesday to begin a year and a day sentence on a weapon charge.The rapper made a concertlike entrance to the Forrest City low-security prison — showing up late inside of a black conversion van with tinted windows. T.I. (real name: Clifford J. Harris Jr.) was to report at noon, but the deadline passed as guards outside blocked reporters and onlookers from coming near the facility on a rural state highway. It was not immediately clear if T.I.'s late arrival would affect his plea deal with prosecutors. Traci Billingsley, another prison spokeswoman, said the prison had no special protections prepared for the rapper.

T.I. GETTING READY TO GO TO JAIL

T.I. will be coming to Arkansas by May 26 to serve a prison sentence on federal weapons charges. The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., will be serving his sentence of one year and a day at the Forrest City low-security federal prison. Paperwork filed in his federal court case shows he has until noon on May 26 to report for his sentence. Prison officials didn't immediately return a call Friday for comment.

Yung Joc has fighting words for Diddy. The Southern rapper tells Billboard.com that he plans to file a lawsuit against Bad Boy Records and Block Entertainment for a host of contractual discrepancies, including failure to pay royalties and advances for his first two albums and charging "outrageous clearance fees" for his collaborations with other artists.

"I haven't been paid any royalties since I've been out, after over a million albums sold," says Yung Joc. "For my first album, they gave me a $25,000 advance when I was supposed to get more...Then I had a million dollar budget for my second album, never even got an advance off of it. For the third one they hit me with another $25,000, like I'm some chump in this shit. And I just got tired of it."

*UPDATE* WAYMAN TISDALE LOSES HIS BATTLE WITH CANCER

Wayman Tisdale, the one-time Oklahoma star and NBA player who recorded several jazz albums, died at 44 after a two year battle with cancer, the Associated Press reports. Tisdale, a 6' 9" forward who was an Olympic gold medalist and three-time All-American for Oklahoma, played for the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, and Phoenix Suns during a 12 season NBA career. A bass player, Tisdale made his jazz recording debut in 1995 with "Power Forward." He released eight albums, all of which were top 10 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, including three that went to No. 1 -- 2001's "Face to Face," "Way Up!" in 2006 and his most recent album, 2008's "Rebound," which features a cover of Barry White's "Never Gonna Give You Up" with country singer Toby Keith on vocals. Tisdale, 44, died in a Tulsa, Oklahoma, hospital, where his wife took him when he had trouble breathing early Friday, agent Scott Pang said.

Tisdale's death was "a complete shock" and came as he prepared to return to the recording studio next week to work on a project with jazz guitarist Norman Brown, Pang said.

"He was a real testament to the power of positive thinking," said Pang. "Even after the cancer and amputating his leg above his knee, he never lost that smile on his face."
