Willow Smith and Annie have one thing in common, they both have a "Daddy Warbucks" that will do anything for them. Will Smith is in talks with Sony to explore remaking the classic movie/Broadway Stage Play, "Annie".
The film is expected to be produced by Overbrook Entertainment, which is Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's production company. According to Variety, Willow's mentor and label-owner, Jay-Z, is expected to oversee the music for the film via his Roc Nation label.
Now word as to whether this remake will be a contemporary spin or the classic that we all know and love, or whether or not they will include the original songs. It will be interesting to see, but I just can't wrap my head around the little red head girl in a red dress, white tights, and black patent leather shoes, turning into a pop star whipping her hair back and forth, rapping "Hard Knocks Life".
What are your thoughts?
